Let’s move straight to the meaning of life. You can have it now -
distill the finest philosophy, religion, science and art down to one,
simple, practical narrative: “Life’s a shitty deal, then you die. So
enjoy it.” But then you already knew that, the answer to every
question points to this conclusion. You remain, however, aware of
another, altogether more honest feeling residing deep within, that
while all is illusion nevertheless life matters.
A Higgledy-Piggledy Diary is a non-chronological recollection of a
life lived - namely, my own - and since one life captures a flavour of
all then what may I have to offer you? Shakespeare wrote, “That
which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” He
might have said that all people seek the same ultimate, single goal:
